Your tour begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan, which takes approximately 5–6 hours. The road winds through hills and valleys before reaching the flat and fertile plains of the Terai. Upon arrival, you’ll check into a jungle resort or lodge located near the national park. After a short rest, enjoy a welcome briefing followed by a leisurely walk or a sunset view by the Rapti River. In the evening, experience a traditional Tharu cultural dance performance, showcasing the rich heritage of the local indigenous community. Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.
Rise early for a full day of jungle adventure. Begin with a canoe ride along the Rapti River, where you might spot crocodiles, kingfishers, and other water birds. After breakfast, head out for a guided jungle walk, offering a chance to learn about the flora, fauna, and tracking techniques from local naturalists. Later in the afternoon, enjoy a jeep safari through the national park to see wildlife such as rhinos, deer, wild boars, peacocks, and—if lucky—even Bengal tigers or sloth bears. The day ends with a relaxed evening back at your lodge, surrounded by the sounds of the jungle.
Early in the morning, join a bird-watching tour, as Chitwan is home to over 500 species of birds, making it a paradise for bird lovers. After breakfast, take a guided village walk to learn about the lifestyle, farming methods, and traditions of the Tharu people. You’ll have time to relax at the lodge or by the river in the afternoon. Optional elephant breeding center visit or additional nature walk available. Enjoy your final evening in the peaceful jungle setting with a delicious dinner and campfire.
After breakfast, bid farewell to Chitwan and begin your drive back to Kathmandu. The return journey offers another opportunity to take in the changing landscape from plains to hills. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or airport, concluding your wildlife adventure.
